Stocks of The Future

By Charles Payne, CEO & Principal Analyst
1/7/2025 9:48 AM

The “Mag Seven” set the pace yesterday, led by Nvidia (NVDA), as the world awaited the CES keynote from CEO Jensen Huang last night.

American Renaissance

It’s an exciting time to be alive, especially in America, and someone that actively invests in the stock market. I mentioned this on my show yesterday after recanting a conversation with a friend over the weekend.

I said, imagine if Leonardo da Vinci lived long enough to see things from his imagination come to fruition.

Leonardo da Vinci Predictions

War tanks

Machine guns

Submarines

Helicopters

Refrigerators

Parachutes

Human evolution

Solar power

Calculator

Telescope

Robot

Although I didn’t conceive of the things coming to fruition at this very moment, I feel invested in them.

While those mega-cap “Mag Seven” names were surging, the last few sessions have also seen stocks of the future erupt.

Heat Map & Market Breadth

Market breadth wasn’t great, but the big names once again led the way.

What stands out most to me is the up volume on the NASDAQ composite. Investors want to be in certain names, and are willing to pay any valuation.

Market Breadth

Chasing Pops

We are in that part of the cycle where key words and acronyms can move stocks. Lots of stocks that surged out of the gate yesterday finished lower and were negative at the close.

Deere & Company (DE) debuted its autonomous tractor. The stock rallied to $429, then turned lower to close at $418.

CES Hype Fades Fast

Last year, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) hype sent stocks surging on the first day, but most stumbled badly throughout the week.

Today’s Session

There is a fair amount of excitement at the open. Beyond the “future is now” aspect of the market, there is also a foreboding aura coming from the bond market.  I cannot put a finger on it and say for sure other than it’s like a lump somewhere on your body you shouldn’t ignore.

Charles, you were excellent last night on Gutfeld. Your ubiquitous energy is contagious. And, thanks for all you do to guide us on this inspiring journey.

Ronnie is correct. I am glad the regulars like CP and GG get some overdue vacation during Christmas and New Year, but it is always good when they return. And having CP on Gutfield last night was icing on the cake.

It seems to me that Deere is not thinking far enough ahead. Why make the tractor autonomous when the plow itself (or combine, or any other farming device) is what should be self-driving.

The bond market has a glass is half empty fixation that fails to balance the incoming plusses of a Trump administration. It is hard to believe they forget just how powerful he was during his first presidency, and that he has learned much from past mistakes. His bellicose nature will accomplish much before even entering office. And, the growth and positive regulation reductions combined with his tax cut and probusiness nominations can help make America great again.

oh city guys, the tractor is a multifunctional power source for many different implements including a plow, a disc, a spring-tooth, a planter and of course the manure spreader.(I just thru that in for any dems) You would not want a power source for each implement although the combine may possibly make sense.
