Afternoon Note

Continuing Friday’s Momentum

Major indices are moving higher again today as Nvidia (NVDA) leads chip stocks upward. This has helped the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 to lead with strong gains.

The Ten-Year Treasury Yield (TNX) is up 1.4 basis points and passing the 4.6% level again.

Only three sectors are in the red, with Utilities (XLU) lagging the most, followed by Real Estate (XLRE) and Consumer Staples (XLP), driven by the increase in rates. Technology (XLK) is in the lead, up 1.86%, with semiconductor stocks rallying following news that Nvidia's (NVDA) server partner Foxconn expects record Q4 revenues as AI demand soars.

Low volatility is the only factor having weakness this afternoon, particularly large caps. All other factors are well into the green, with mid and large caps tending to do better than small caps.

The Fear & Greed Index is still in the Fear zone, but is trending closer to Neutral.

In the economic front, new orders for manufactured goods fell 0.4% m/m in November, below estimates of -0.3% and Octobers’ gain of 0.5%.
