Inflation Fears Spark

Major indices are moving lower as the Michigan Consumer Sentiment came worse than expected (more below) and core-PCE index coming hotter-than-expected.

The Magnificent Seven is leading the market lower and contributing to Nasdaq’s underperformance. Amazon (AMZN) and Alphabet (GOOG/L) are the laggards of the pack.

Only two sectors are in green territory. Utilities (XLU) is in the green by a wide margin, while Health Care (XLV) is flat. Consumer Discretionary (XLY) is the laggard, followed by Technology (XLK) and Communication Services (XLC).

The Fear & Greed Index once again crossed into the Extreme Fear zone.

Consumer Sentiment in March plummeted to 57, its lowest level since November 2022, and missed initial read of 59. The report showed a particular worry from consumers about the labor market.

Have a great weekend.

We own 5 Automobiles all 2008 or earlier...they are the only years affordable for repair. We have 1 2014 Silverado 2500, the transmission goes out always for them 100k miles. We preserve that truck like gold.

American economy is dark. Trump's efforts are admirable, but darkness abounds for long time before. Jesus is coming soon...get ready!

My wife and I are by no means sophisticated investors but we've been all cash for about 6 weeks.
If we had stayed in: I don't even want to think about it.

Make no mistake, if things don't turn around soon, it' all over for Trump and we will never get any of the benefits he wants to implement. People will remember this come mid-terms.

The last six weeks have been brutal. Just read an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal regarding tariffs in general and in particular the effects on fasteners (screws). Just wondering where there may be opportunity in companies that will see increased workloads due to on-shoring. Also one of the biggest items subject to tariffs are heavy nuclear components. Almost all heavy components are cast in Japan/Korea and final machined in Korea. The U.S. does not even have that capability and it may take some years to develop that.
