FEAR OF FLYING

By Charles Payne, CEO & Principal Analyst
3/24/2025 9:58 AM

It seems like the market and investors have become afraid the market will fly again very soon. They would prefer a more pedestrian approach, where the false rebounds fade away, a new foundation is established, and we take off from there.

Friday Session

The story of Friday was how much the market climbed off the canvas, which is always impressive, especially going into the weekend.

It's clear, however, that this market remains highly vulnerable.

Mag Seven

It's also clear that the “Mag Seven” can cook at any time, which masked widespread pain. The storyline for these names has gone from extremely expensive to reasonably priced.

Monday is Hump Day

Mondays have been devastating for the stock market this year. It sets the tone, and while we saw more resolve last week, a strong start to the new week would be refreshing.

Today’s Session

The White House is fine-tuning its tariffs, although they won’t be ready when the reciprocal tariffs go into effect.

Equity futures are higher on the report.  The key for the S&P 500 is to close above 5750 and form a base to go after the 50-day moving average next.
