The April 2025 Dividend Report
4/14/2025
With increased market gyration and panic setting in, this is a good time to remind investors why it's essential to always to have some exposure to dividend stocks and allow compounding to work its magic over the years. Indian folklore tells the story of Sissa (also spelled Sessa or Sassa), the inventor of chess. When asked what he wanted in return for such a brilliant invention, Sissa said a grain of wheat on the first square of the board would be doubled consecutively on each square thereafter. Another historical lesson investors should know is the haven of dividends during recessions. I’m not modeling a recession, but the economy will slow dramatically later in the year. Then, investors have confidence in holding dividend payers during times of dislocation. In 2020, 42 dividends were suspended, 27 decreased, and 287 increased. Meanwhile, the implied dividend yield for the S&P 500 is rising quickly. To read the full report, contact your account representative or email Info@wstreet.com.
