Taking a Breather

Major indices are taking a breather today and are giving back some gains from yesterday.

The S&P 500 is slowly reversing off lows following Fed Waller’s comments who delivered dovish remarks.

Only one sector is in the green today, Utilities (XLU) up 1.7%, driven by news of the Constellation Energy Corporation (CEG) and Microsoft (MSFT) deal to restart the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power plant. The two worst performing sectors are Technology (XLK) and Industrials (XLI).

FedEx (FDX), the number 5 weight in the Dow Transports, is adding heavy pressure today in the index after delivering downside guidance after the bell yesterday.

Moreover, the company delivered a gloomy message during the earnings call.

Gold is continuing its rally from yesterday to new highs.
