All Eyes on Netflix

Markets are still feeling shaky with mega cap stocks keeping the broader market in check. The Semiconductor Index (SOXX) erased earlier gains and is now in negative territory even as TSMC (TSM) reported better than expected results.

Only four of eleven sectors are up today, with Energy (XLE) leading the pack by far.  Health Care (XLV) is the biggest loser, down 1.38%.

The Leading Economic Index (LEI) in June declined 0.2% to 101.1, compared to an upwardly revised decline of 0.4% in May. For the first half of the year, LEI fell 1.9% compared to a 2.9% drop in the last half.

The main factors behind the decline were consumer sentiment, new orders, and yield spread.

Netflix (NFLX) is reporting after the bell.  Let’s see what they say about the consumers' appetite for spending.
