From Al Capone to Ralph Waldo Emerson, the importance of having enthusiasm was an evident component of success. Enthusiasm must play a role if this nation is to maintain its place in the world and expand prosperity among its citizens.

The good news is enthusiasm is infectious, or just someone except by default. That’s the realization on Wall Street, where more bears have come out of hibernation to bathe in the warm sunlight of enthusiasm.

Citigroup (C) noted last week that positioning is one-sided as bears have given up and bullish sentiment has soared.

Old-school curmudgeons will be the first to tell you when dyed-in-the-wool bears give up, the market usually goes south. But something special is happening right now.
