The Jobs report was very intriguing. The headline number was significantly above the Wall Street consensus, which sparked headline-reading algorithms to sell, which in turn sparked human selling. For a while, it looked as if it would be mass selling into the weekend. Then, people began to read the details of the report. After combing through all 39 pages, it was clear this was not a strong jobs report. It was one-third of the lowest-paying jobs, underpaid nurses, and an absurdly high number of government workers.
